In this lesson, you will prepare for your first day of work.
First impressions are important, because this affects how people see you.
When you start a new job, you want to present yourself in a professional way.
Professionalism relates to the attitude, behavior, and conduct of a person at work.
Professionalism doesn’t just refer to how well you do your job, it refers to how you behave while working.
No matter where you work, or whether you are part-time or full-time, professionalism is an important part of every job.
Presenting yourself in a professional way lets people know that you care about the work you’re doing.
This helps you succeed at your job, and be an effective team member and employee.
This lesson uses Google Docs, but you could apply these skills and concepts in any word processing application or even on a piece of paper.
To prepare for your first day of work, you will create a table in Google Docs with information you need for your job, including shift times and dress codes.
You will also use Google Maps verify important information, such as where to go and the best way to get to your new job on time.
To work on this lesson, sign in to your Google account.
Open a new tab in your browser, and navigate to Google.com.
If you are not signed in, do so now.
If you do not have a Google account, pause the video and create one now.
To begin, open your Google Drive.
Create a new Google Doc and rename it.
Then, move on to the next video to create a table with important information about a job.
