In this video, you will use conditional formatting to highlight data in your spreadsheet.

Conditional formatting is a way to format cells in your spreadsheet based on whether they meet certain conditions.

You can set rules based on a variety of factors, such as whether cells are empty or contain data, or whether they contain certain text or values.

To begin, select your Credit Complete column.

Then, use conditional formatting to set colors for your answers.

Conditional formatting is useful because it automatically adds color to make certain information stand out.

In this example, it allows you to quickly determine how many classes you have taken and how many classes you must still complete.

Select the range of cells you want to format.

Then, add a rule that shows a class “is” complete.

Next, choose a formatting style, such as a color or emphasis, to add to the text or cell.

Then, add another formatting rule.

Select the range you want to use.

Then, add a format rule to show that a class is “not” complete.

Choose a different color for this rule.

Add additional formatting to your text if you like.

Or just finish your new rule.

Now, use your formatted column to display your completed credits or incomplete credits.

Move on to the next video to track your volunteer hours or extracurricular activities.

Now, it’s your turn: Add at least two conditional formatting rules to your spreadsheet.
