In this lesson, you took steps to ensure that you are taking the classes, and performing the tasks, you need to graduate on time.

You emailed your guidance counselor to ask for help in verifying that you have taken the required courses for each of your high school years.

And you asked them to help identify the classes you still need to take.

You added required classes you are taking this year to a digital spreadsheet and used data validation and conditional formatting to show whether you’ve completed those classes or not.

And finally, you created a new sheet to list your volunteer and extracurricular activities.

You recorded the hours you spent and the proof that you completed these activities with checkboxes and links.

Now that you have a head start on organizing a plan for graduation, explore more ways to prepare for successful completion of your high school years.

You might: Add classes you took in previous years to your spreadsheet, and the coursework you will take in your remaining years of high school.

List the contact information for teachers, coaches or other people who might serve as a reference for you for jobs or school applications.

Or, keep a list of school property you have, such as textbooks or sports equipment that you will need to return before graduation day.

Knowing how to organize information in a spreadsheet can help you keep track of information you need for home, school and work.

Using a spreadsheet is helpful to manage team projects, track your income and expenses in a budget or compare colleges or work programs.

Taking charge of your future while you’re still in high school will give you the skills you need to be successful no matter what new challenges you take on after graduation!
