Color code the shapes in your flowchart to make it easier to understand and follow, and format your flowchart’s text to make it visually appealing and easy to read.
Transcript
In this extension video, you will change the colors of your flowchart’s shapes to make it more user-friendly and easier to understand.
To complete this lesson, you will: Choose fill colors for your shapes, And change the font style and color for your title text.
To begin, open Google Drive.
Then, open the Drawing.
Next, choose colors for your flowchart shapes.
Color-coding the same parts in your flowchart will make it look consistent and easier to read and understand.
For example, you might select the same color for your start and end points, since they both use the same terminator shape.
Assigning a specific color to each type of shape sends a visual signal to your viewer that they are related.
Next, change the color of your decision shape.
Because of the importance of a decision in a flowchart, use a color that will make it stand out.
Use the same color for any additional decision shapes your flowchart may have.
Then, change the color of your process shapes.
Next, format your flowchart’s title to make it visually appealing and easier to read.
Choose a font for your title that suits your flowchart.
Changing the font can alter the look and feel of your text.
Whatever font you choose, make sure your viewer can read it easily.
Then, change the color of your title.
Make sure the text color you select is easy to see.
Now that you’ve color-coded your shapes and added formatting to your title, your flowchart is easier to read, understand, and follow! Now, it’s your turn: Add fill color to each flowchart shape type, And change the style and color of the title text.
