The conclusion neatly wraps up your essay.
This is your final chance to make an impression on your reader.
Your conclusion should restate your thesis statement and remind the reader exactly why your topic is important.
To begin, start a new paragraph.
You may choose to begin by restating your thesis, but you can put your thesis anywhere in your conclusion.
Avoid repeating your thesis statement word for word.
It should be a new, fresh sentence.
Next, briefly summarize the main ideas that you included in your paper, but like the thesis statement, avoid repeating them word for word.
Then, wrap it up by making a statement or point that leaves your reader with a good impression about you and brings your essay to a close.
Your essay will need to undergo several revisions before it’s complete, but now is a good time to check whether you have answered your prompt completely.
If there’s more than one part to the prompt, make sure that you have answered all parts in your essay.
Run the spelling and grammar check tool and make corrections, if necessary.
Then, check your essay’s word count.
If you’re over the maximum number of words your school or organization requires, you may need to edit your essay by carefully deleting unnecessary words or sentences to meet the word count requirement.
