Filter Your Search Results
Transcript
In this video, you will filter your search results to focus on more specific information.
To filter means to limit your results by selecting specific terms or options for your search.
When you choose a filter, you remove any results that do not match it.
Your searches have provided a lot of useful information to consider as you determine which colleges are right for you.
To make your search even more effective, you can narrow your results by filtering what you search for.
Using the filters available, you will be able to focus on the schools that meet your particular needs and wants.
To begin, you can use the same search...
Or start with a new search.
Then, filter your search using one of the options provided in the results.
Your results will show only colleges that fit the option you chose.
You can remove the filter at any time to broaden your search.
You can then change the filter,...
Or reapply it to narrow your results.
Next, apply another filter.
This filter will be added to the previous filter to make your results even more focused on what you are looking for.
Continue your search or start a new search if you want to learn more about a different type of college.
Then, filter any new results to find colleges that may be options for you.
Bookmark any searches that you want to save and refer to later.
Use different names for each bookmark to help you find what you are looking for.
Next, open a file to keep track of your search results, so you can gather and compare all of the information you are finding about colleges.
This lesson uses a spreadsheet, but you could compare your college search results in a document, a slide presentation, or even on a piece of paper.
