Timelines aren’t only for past events.

You can also use them to look toward the future.

In this video, you will add two future events that you are looking forward to.

To do this, you will copy and paste an existing event, including the text boxes and text, and then change the text to create a future event.

To start, think of two events that you are looking forward to in the future.

Some examples might be… seeing the people you’re close to, getting a new pet, visiting somewhere new or returning to a place you like to visit, or playing in the first game of a sports team you just joined.

Click on the last event in your timeline to select the date, title, and description of the event.

The objects in each section of the timeline are grouped.

Grouped objects can be copied, pasted, and moved at one time.

Copy the entire grouped object and paste it at the end of your timeline.

Click and drag the grouped object to connect it with the rest of your timeline.

Then, adjust the size of the canvas so the timeline fits.

Edit the text with your future event.

Planning for the future or knowing the exact date for a future event can be challenging since plans can change and unpredictable things can happen.

Make your best estimate and adjust these dates later if anything changes.

Next, change the text color or highlight color if you wish.

Finally, follow the same procedure for the second future event.

Now, it’s your turn: Copy and paste the last event in your timeline, click and drag the new object to the end and connect it, resize the canvas, edit the text with your future event, change the text color or highlight color if you wish, and repeat the procedure for your second future event.
