Introduction to Track Due Dates and Tasks in Gmail
Transcript
Keeping a schedule of events and tasks can help you organize your day-to-day life.
There are many apps and tools to help you do it.
Gmail is one.
Using the side panel of your Gmail account to keep track of your assignments, events, and tasks gives you a single place to check all of your important due dates.
If an assignment or other document is emailed to you, you can add any dates associated with it to your calendar, a task list, or by keeping a schedule of events and tasks.
When you get an email about an event like a meeting, assignment due date, or a social gathering, it's added to your calendar automatically.
You can choose to accept or decline the event and filter who can view events in your calendar.
If you don't want events from Gmail on your calendar, you can delete a single event, or change your settings so that events aren't added automatically.
Keeping your schedule of due dates digitally is often more effective and efficient than using a paper planner.
You can quickly schedule meetings and events and get reminders about upcoming activities, so you always know what's next.
Digital calendars make it easy to share your schedule with others.
Many work settings use them to help their teams stay organized.
In this lesson, you will: Use your Gmail account to plan and track your events and tasks, add an event and due date to your calendar, create a new task list to document upcoming events and tasks you need to complete, format your task list by adding dates and times, and mark completed tasks in your list.
If you’d like, you can use features within Google Calendar like a screen reader to make it easier to read.
