Introduction to Design and Share a Digital Badge
Transcript
In this lesson, you'll create a badge that you can give to your classmates to recognize when they have done something positive, or acknowledge their positive character traits.
"Positive character traits" are positive qualities someone has that other people value.
For example, maybe your classmate does a good deed by helping someone in need.
The positive character trait they're showing is helpfulness.
Or maybe a classmate tries to cheer up a friend and make their day better.
The positive character trait they're showing is kindness.
When someone does something for others or shows a positive character trait, you can share a badge to help them feel recognized.
When you congratulate someone for something positive they have done, it makes both that person and you feel good.
Throughout the year, you might also receive badges from classmates who recognize you for doing something positive.
As you complete this lesson, you will: create a character badge, format and download your badge, add your badge to your class slide scrapbook, create your own digital scrapbook to save the badges you receive, and share your badge with a classmate.
You might have seen badges that honor people before.
Many badges are made of metal or cloth.
For a digital badge, you will use graphics from a design application.
Using a digital application gives you access to different tools you can use to design your badge however you want to.
Making a digital badge makes it easier to share badges and collect badges you receive from your classmates.
This lesson uses Google Drawings and Google Slides, but you could apply these skills and concepts in any drawing or presentation application.
When you're using Google Drawings or Google Slides, it might be helpful to use a screen reader.
If you have difficulty using a mouse, a screen reader could make it easier to interact with Google Drawings or Google Slides.
