In this video, you will add shapes to your flowchart that represent the steps in your process.

To start, insert an ellipse shape to signify the beginning of the process.

In flowcharts, they are called terminators.

Terminators are used for both the start and end point shapes of a flowchart, and they are often ellipses.

Because a flowchart shows the sequence, or order, of events, you will want to place theterminator shape in the top left corner of your drawing to leave room for the rest of your flowchart.

Adjust the placement of your shapes by clicking and dragging them on the drawing canvas.

Next, add text to the shape.

Then, add a rectangle, called a process shape.

Process shapes indicate the steps or actions in a flowchart.

Draw it to the right of your starting point.

Duplicate your process shape to keep the size consistent for your next steps.

Then, reposition the shapes to evenly space them out and make your flowchart look organized.

Now, add text to your process shapes.

Refer to your notes to help you.

When you get to the question in your process, you will add a decision shape.

A diamond shape in a flowchart is called a decision shape, and it represents a point in your flowchart where a decision must be made.

Add text for the question that must be answered to make the decision.

Resize the shape so your text fits within it, and reposition the shape, if necessary.

Now, insert a process shape for the first possible choice for your decision.

Then, duplicate the shape to keep the size consistent and to make it look neat and organized for the other possible step that could be chosen in the process.

Reposition the shapes so they are neatly spaced apart.

Add text for both possible outcomes.

When all of the steps in your process are complete, insert another terminator shape and add text for the end point of your flowchart.

Adjust the placement of the shape, if necessary.

Then, center align the text inside the shapes to make them organized and easier to read.

Finally, delete the text box with your notes.

Now, it’s your turn: Insert shapes for your flowchart process, Add text to each shape, Reposition and resize shapes, And delete the text box with your notes.
