To complete this project, you: Chose what you wanted to write a song about and listed related words and a song description, Wrote a first verse that began to tell your song’s story, Wrote a chorus that expressed the main message of your song, And completed your song’s lyrics by writing more verses and adding a title.
You learned that songs can express happiness, sadness, love, and other emotions.
Think about the song you wrote.
How do the lyrics make you feel when you read them?
Does it sound the way you thought it would when you first started this project, or is it surprising or different?
Now that you’ve learned to express yourself “musically” in words, complete your song by experimenting with some other ways to express yourself musically! If you like, you can play with the rhythm of your lyrics and rap your song.
Add instruments or just use objects around your home to create background music for your song.
For example, tapping on glasses filled with water can make interesting musical sounds.
After you’ve written music for your lyrics, you can record your song and share it with your friends and family so they can admire your new songwriting skills!
