Welcome to Google Calendar for Beginners.

In this lesson, you will learn how to use Google Calendar to schedule a celebration.

Google Calendar is a digital calendar that comes with every free Google account.

If you have taken the lesson “Google Docs for Beginners,” you planned a celebration using Google Docs.

In this lesson, you will add that celebration to your Google Calendar.

If this is your first Google Apps for Beginners lesson, that’s fine.

Use a celebration from your own life, or make one up.

Or, just copy what you see on the video.

The celebration example is just a way to help you practice the skills you’ll learn in these videos, so the exact one you choose is not important.

Google Calendar can help you keep track of everything you need to remember and do.

Have you ever written down your appointments in a paper planner?

Google Calendar is an online version of that.

Like a paper planner, it will keep you organized, on time, and on schedule.

Unlike a paper planner… You can access Google Calendar from any device with internet access.

You can easily change or delete information and events on your Google Calendar.

Once you update your calendar on one device, the update will be visible on all your devices.

Your Google Calendar can notify you when an event is coming up.

And you can’t ever lose or misplace it.

In this lesson, you will: Create an event on your calendar, Add the date, time, notification and description to your event, And invite guests.

If you’re not already signed in to your Google account, open a new tab, go to google.com, and sign in now.

Pause the video if you need to.

If you need a reminder of how to sign in or create a Google account, watch “Welcome to Google Apps for Beginners” to learn all the steps.

Now it’s your turn: Sign in to your Google account.

When you’re done, switch back to the tab with the Google Calendar lesson videos on it, and click "Next" to watch the next video.
