In this video, you will explore “The Historical Legacy of Juneteenth”, an online exhibit on the Google Arts & Culture website.

As you explore, you will take notes on what you learn and how you might use it in your celebration.

To begin, return to the document you created in the last video.

Then, in a new browser tab, navigate to g.co/arts.

Search for “Juneteenth” in the Search bar, And click on “The Historical Legacy of Juneteenth.” Now, explore Juneteenth on Google Arts & Culture.

As you read the text and look at the visuals, take notes about Juneteenth in your document.

You might list important facts about what Juneteenth is, And what came after or before it.

Make your list bulleted so it’s easier to read and your information will stay organized.

As you take notes, see if anything inspires you to decide the type of Juneteenth celebration you might have.

For inspiration, look at how Juneteenth was celebrated in the past and today.

Also think about what other elements you might use in your flyer beside Juneteenth facts and information about your celebration.

These might be images of what Juneteenth means to you or a poem or quote that inspires you.

As you finish exploring, continue adding facts or ideas to your list.

When you have finished, you can close the Google Arts & Culture tab.

Now, it’s your turn: Navigate to g.co/arts, Search for “Juneteenth”, Explore the online exhibit “The Historical Legacy of Juneteenth”, Take notes on what you learned and how you might use it in your celebration, And make your list bulleted.
