Add Word Art to Your Flyer
Add Word Art to your flyer to emphasize text.
Transcript
In this extension, you will add Word Art to your flyer.
Word Art is a tool that changes the appearance of text.
It transforms basic text into a combination of text and art and can capture more people’s attention.
To begin, open the flyer you created in the main lesson.
Next, choose a word or phrase that you want to emphasize.
Using Word Art for the text will set it apart from the rest of the text and make it stand out.
Delete the text that you will be making into Word Art, And add the text back to your flyer as Word Art.
Move the Word Art to replace the deleted text and adjust its size.
Then, format the Word Art as you would with regular text by choosing a font and color.
Finally, add and format a border to outline the letters and make them stand out more from the background.
Now, it’s your turn: Add Word Art, And resize and format the Word Art.

Add a Quotation to Your Flyer
Add a quotation from Google Arts & Culture to your flyer.
Transcript
In the main lesson, you added text, images, colors, and shapes to your flyer to give your audience information and make the flyer appealing to look at.
In this extension, you will add a quotation from Google Arts & Culture to your flyer.
A quotation is a group of words that are taken from someone else.
Including a quotation can make your flyer more personal and interesting to read.
To begin, open the flyer you created in the main lesson.
Then, in a new browser tab, navigate to g.co/arts.
Search for “Juneteenth” in the Search bar, And click on “The Historical Legacy of Juneteenth.” If you already listed a quotation in your planning document, you may want to use it in your flyer.
If not, explore Google Arts& & Culture for a quotation that inspires you.
It could be about Juneteenth itself or something related to what it means.
You can look for a quotation in the text or within an image, like one from an old newspaper.
Next, look at your flyer and decide where the quotation would best fit.
You may need to delete text, an image, or a shape to make room for your quotation, but be sure not to delete anything important people would need to know about your celebration.
Then, add a text box where you would like to put the quotation, And type the text exactly as written.
Add quotation marks before and after the text to attribute the quote to someone else.
Next, provide attribution, or credit, to the source of the quotation.
Finally, format the text the way you want it to look.
Now, it’s your turn: Use your planning document or Google Arts & Culture to get a quotation, Delete text, images, or shapes from your flyer if you need more room, Add a text box to your flyer, Add the quotation to your flyer, And format the text.
