Share the Slides Over Google Meet

Host a Google Meet reunion and share the slides over Meet.

Transcript

In this extension, you will schedule a Google Meet video call, invite your guests, and present the slides during the call.

Google Meet is a free video conferencing tool that allows all participants in the virtual reunion to see and talk to each other no matter where they live.

This is a fun way to “reunite” even when you can’t be together in-person.

To begin, open your Calendar.

Think about what would be a convenient date and time for everyone to join the call.

For example, you may not want to schedule it on a weekday morning or afternoon when some people might be at work or in school.

Then, create your event on the date and time you choose.

Add a title.

Edit the event to add more details...

Like Google Meet Video Conferencing, And a description of what the meeting will be about, If you wish, add a link to the presentation in the description.

Invite the people participating in the virtual reunion to the event by typing in their email addresses.

It’s o-k to only send the invitation to a few participants if people from the same household will be sharing computers.

Finally, send the invitations to your guests.

Your guests have the option of accepting or declining the invitation.

When it’s time for the reunion, join the Google Meet call through your calendar.

Be sure your microphone and camera are on at the beginning.

Later, when people are discussing their slides, ask those who aren’t speaking to mute their microphone.

This cuts down on background noise.

After everyone has greeted each other, present the virtual reunion slides.

When you present the slides, everyone can see the virtual reunion.

Scroll through the slides and ask each person to talk about the information they gave and add more details, if they wish.

Click Stop when you’re finished presenting.

Then, thank everyone for coming and exit the call.

Now, it’s your turn: Schedule a Google Meet video conference call, Invite your guests, And present the slides during the call.

Adding a video to your slide is something extra you can do to make it more meaningful to you and your viewers.

In this extension, you will link to a video from your own slide.

You may have your own video of a school event or hobby you participated in...

Or you may embed a video from the internet, like a video of your favorite musical group.

To begin, return to the slide you created for your virtual reunion.

Look at the information you shared and decide where a video might best fit.

Then, select the image or text where you want to link the video and link the video from your Drive.
