Create Headings for Your Study Guide Sections

In this video, you will create headings in your document for the subtopics you each chose.

Then, you will complete your section of the study guide by gathering information about your subtopic and explaining it in your own words.

To begin, each student should open the study guide document on your own computer.

Next, type your subtopic into the document as a heading. Headings create sections in your document, which make it easier to read and navigate.

Format your subtopic section with bullets to make it easier to read.

Under the heading, type what you know about the subtopic in your own words. Using your own words helps you understand and remember the information better than copying and pasting.

Your group members will add information to their own sections, at the same time.

After you’ve added the information you already know about the topic, review class materials for information you can use to expand your part of the study guide.

Go back through your textbook, handouts, notes, quizzes, and online research to add more detailed information. All your group members should add any important details to your study guide.

Finally, add any visuals that might help you remember the information. These might include: images, charts, diagrams, or illustrations.

Images and examples can help you understand and remember information.
