Welcome to Explore a Topic: Celebrate Latinx History! In this lesson, you will learn by exploring on your own, then by teaching your classmates and even your teacher.

This Explore a Topic activity is about Latinx history.

You can work on this activity on your own or with a group.

First, you will pick a topic.

Choose one from the website, or develop your own.

If you don't have a topic in mind, ask yourself what part of Latinx history you are most curious about, like music or dance.

The topic you choose can be from the past.

Or from the present day, because history is being made even now.

Next, get ready to explore.

You will make an exploration document in Google Docs.

This is where you will keep track of sources and information.

To keep your exploration focused, you will use one of the research questions provided for you, or write your own.

If you are working in a group, share the document with all of your group members.

Next, you will explore the topic by searching the internet.

Suggested sources are listed in the document, but you can also find your own.

Then, you will create a project to communicate the information you found.

It is up to you to choose the Google application that best suits your topic.

For example, you could write an article in Google Docs; create a presentation in Google Slides; or build a website in Google Sites.

Finally, present your project to your class and your teacher, communicating what is important and interesting about it.
