Create Your Own Song with Blob Opera
Create your own opera song and add a link to it in your presentation.
Transcript
In this extension, you will use Blob Opera to create and record your own song.
You will then copy and paste a link to your song in your document.
To begin, open your document from the main lesson and scroll down to the "Blob Opera" header.
Then, in a new tab, navigate to "experiments.withgoogle.com/blob-opera." Or click the link in your document.
Launch the experiment.
Then, drag the four blobs around to hear them sing and harmonize.
Drag them up and down to change pitch.
Or forwards and backwards to hear different vowel sounds.
To develop an understanding of what opera sounds like, the AI in Blob Opera learned from recordings of trained singers.
Can you hear how the blobs have learned to sing opera in a realistic way?
How is opera different from other forms of singing, like pop?
When you're ready, record your own song.
The song will play back to you when you're finished.
Finally, copy the link to your song.
Add a link to your song in the box.
Use the "Control-V" or "Command-V" keys to paste the link.
Select the link text and click the link icon to make it a link.
Finally, click on the link to hear your song again.
Now, it’s your turn: open your document from the main lesson, navigate to "experiments.withgoogle.com/blob-opera" or click the link in your document, record your own song, copy the link to your song, and paste the link to your song under the "Blob Opera" header and make it a link.
Play a Word Association Game in Semantris
Explore a word association game that uses artificial intelligence.
Transcript
In the main lesson, you learned that AI helps people every day but that it can also be used just for fun.
In this extension, you'll play Semantris Arcade, a word association game that uses AI.
Then, you will record your score in your document and think about how Semantris Arcade might be helpful for your learning.
You can play two word association games in Semantris: Arcade and Blocks.
Even though they both use the same AI, you interact with them in different ways.
In this lesson, you'll play Arcade.
To begin, open your document from the main lesson and scroll down to the "Semantris" header.
Then, in a new tab, navigate to "research.google.com/semantris" or click the link in your document.
Now, begin to play Arcade.
In Arcade, you type the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a certain word.
Then, the AI sorts the list to move the most closely related words to the bottom.
To learn which words are related to each other, the AI was trained on billions of lines of human dialogue.
You score points for moving the target word below the line.
Keep adding associated words.
Try typing different things, like synonyms, antonyms, and full sentences to get the highest scores.
The goal is to try to clear the words before they reach the top.
After you've played a round of Arcade, record your score in your document.
Then, think about how Semantris Arcade might help you in your own learning.
Yes, it was fun, but it also can help you do things like improve your writing.
Finish the three sentences starting with "It helps me…" Now, it's your turn: open your document from the main lesson, navigate to "research.google.com/semantris" or click the link in your document, play a full game of Arcade, record your score under the "Semantris" header, and type three ways Arcade might help with learning.
Add a Colorful Scene to Your Title Slide
Add color to your title slide.
Transcript

For example, if your theme is nature, you might insert leaves next to a river with a rainbow nearby.
Try to think of at least three objects.
Open a new tab in your browser and navigate to "autodraw.com" Keep your presentation open in another tab.
