Plan Your Flowchart
Transcript
In this video, you will choose an idea for your flowchart and plan the steps for the process.
To begin, take a few minutes to think about a process for your flowchart.
The process must include start and end points, and at least one decision that must be made during the steps of the process.
It could be as simple as weekend activities, Or as complex as constructing a model airplane or completing an experiment.
Insert a text box at the top of your drawing to add a title that describes your flowchart.
Change the size of the text to make the title stand out, and adjust the box so it’s centered on the drawing.
Next, insert another text box in your drawing to add notes about your process.
Planning out your steps makes it easier when it’s time to add shapes and connectors to your drawing.
Consider the steps that will take place in your process.
For example, begin with the start point of your process.
Think of the sequence of events or steps, and type the steps in your notes in the order they occur.
Your process will come to a point where a choice must be made between one or more options.
Add a question that would prompt a decision to be made.
Then, list at least two choices.
Your process can move in completely different directions based on the step you choose.
Finally, add the last step and the end point of your process to your notes.
Now, it’s your turn: Insert a textbox and add a title, Format the title, And insert a textbox to add notes to plan your process steps.
