To begin, ask other members of your project group for sources they know.

You may be working with someone who has a connection with a media source.

One of your group members may even work on the school newspaper or website, or know a student who does.

Then, conduct your own research.

Searching online for local newspapers is a good place to start.

Searching for online news sources might lead to more possibilities.

After you have found a potential media source, locate their contact information, such as their phone number and email address of a contact person there.

An email is an effective way to communicate with a media source.

When you write an email, you can think about what you want to tell about your press release and project before sending it.

You can also attach your press release to the email.

Start your email with a clear subject that states the reason for your email.

Then, begin your email message with a simple but formal greeting.

Next, tell who you are.

Provide a few key project details, but do not include all of the details in the press release.

Include the purpose for the project.

You want the person who receives your email to understand why your group has been devoting their time and effort to this project.

Conclude your email with a polite request to read and publish your press release.

You can also add any additional details that might be helpful to your recipient.

Next, add a formal closing, including your name and any additional contact information that the recipient might need.

Before you send your email, attach your press release.

Then, send your email.

This is even more important for a school or community project, especially if you want to have people from your school or community help you complete your project.

Adding a photo and a caption to your press release can help you get attention from more media sources...and more readers! People reading the newspaper or an online news source are often more interested in reading something that includes a photo.

Showing your group’s hard work, or one of the stages of your project if you are building or making something, might lead to good publicity, public interest, and even volunteers! To begin, open your press release.

Then, find a photo to add.

If you do not have a photo, contact members of your group.

Ask them to send you any project photos they may have taken.

If you have any people in your photo, make sure you have their permission to include their image in your press release.

If you have a photo saved on your computer, you can use it.

Placing your photo near the top of your press release will get immediate attention.

Most press release photos are placed directly under the headline.

You might need to adjust the size and placement of your photo.

A photo can be an important part of a press release, but you want to make sure that yours does not interfere with the text about your project.

Next, add a caption below your photo.

Your caption should include details about the photo as well as your entire project, even if the photo does not show all of the project details.

Add a photo credit for the person who took the photo, And adjust the size of the text and the placement of the margins so your caption fits directly beneath your photo.

A logo is a design or symbol that a group uses to identify themselves.

A group can add a logo to materials used to market or promote their project, such as posters, flyers, or press releases.

A logo can help make your group more recognizable, which can lead to more supporters and volunteers for your project.

To begin, create a new drawing and rename it.

To start your logo, choose a shape for the outline.

The shape should have enough space inside it to add text.

You should also choose a shape that looks both professional and appealing.

Next, adjust the size of your shape.

Make it larger so you can add text to it more easily.

Change the fill color.

If your group has chosen a color for other project materials, you might want to use it for your logo as well.

Next, change the background color.

The background will be a part of your logo, so you should choose a color that’s similar to the color of your logo.

Then, add text to your logo.

Your text should be simple and state the name of your group.

If your group does not have an official name, think of a name that describes the purpose of your school or community project.

Align the text so that it fits within your shape, And change the font and color to make your logo unique.

Look at your logo and make any final adjustments to complete it.

Next, download your logo as a JPEG file.

In a new tab, open your press release.
