In this video, you’ll create a new folder.

Then you’ll move your document into that folder.

Imagine you had hundreds of documents in your Google Drive.

How would you keep them all organized?

Just like with a physical file cabinet, you can keep your files organized by placing files inside of folders.

You can store files for the same project in the same folder.

That way, you can find what you’re looking for quickly and easily.

To get started, create a new folder in your Drive.

To do that, click the "New" button.

Then, click “Folder.” You’ll see a pop-up prompting you to name your folder.

Type in a new name for your folder.

If you can’t think of anything, just type in the name “Celebration,” because you’re going to move your Celebration Planning Document into this folder.

After you’ve typed in your folder’s name, press Enter or Return...

...or click “Create.” Your folder will appear in your Drive.

Now, place your document inside of your folder.

To do that, click on the document you created.

Hold the mouse or trackpad button down as you move your cursor onto the folder.

This move is called a “click and drag.” The document should disappear from view once it is inside the folder.

To see your document again, quickly click twice on the folder.

This is called a “double click.” The folder will open up to reveal your document.

If you have other files from the Google Apps for Beginners Lessons in your Drive, you can move them into the new folder too.

The structure of your Google Drive will evolve as you add more files and folders.

If you change your mind about how you want to organize your Drive in the future, you can always make changes to your folders, and move around files in whatever way will help you locate them.

Now it’s your turn: Click “New” and select “Folder,” Type in a name for your folder, And click and drag your file into your folder.
