In this video, you will share your map with a partner.

Sharing your map will allow your classmates to see what you’ve created and help them learn more about the places that are special to you.

Everyone has different places within their communities that matter to them, and our experiences with these places make us unique.

When sharing online, make sure you only share things you are comfortable with showing and explaining to others.

Double check that your map does not have any private information on it before sharing with your partner.

Private information includes things like your address or phone number.

To begin, share your map.

Type your partner’s email address.

Select the permission you want to use: “Editor” means your partner can make changes directly in your map.

And “viewer” lets them see your map only.

Choose “viewer.” That way, your partner can see your map, but cannot make changes to it.

Add a note to your partner explaining your map.

You should explain what the theme of your map is and why you chose that theme.

Then, send your message and map.

Your partner will get an email with a link inviting them to view your map.

When your partner has shared their map with you, open the email and read the message your partner wrote.

Read your partner’s message carefully to learn why they chose a particular theme.

Then, open the map they shared with you to find out what locations they chose and why they are important to your partner.

While reviewing your partner's map, read the description and look at the image they added to each location to understand its meaning.

Pay attention to the differences between your map and your partner’s.

Remember that maps are based on the mapmaker and the locations most important to them, so no two maps will be the same.

Now, it’s your turn: Share your map with your partner and give them permission to view it, Write a note describing why the locations in your map are meaningful to you, Open the map your partner shared with you, And review your partner’s map to understand why they chose each particular location.
