In this video, you will add past events to your timeline.

Timelines can measure time in all different ways.

Some timelines take place over a single day...

...And some take place over months and years, which is what you’ll use in this project.

To begin, return to the drawing you created in the last video.

Then, insert a timeline diagram template.

A template provides design elements and formatting to use as a starting point for your project.

Templates help you create a diagram faster and with a neater design.

Next, select five for the number of dates.

Choose a color for your timeline...

...and then a template style.

Now, add the month and year of your first past event.

Abbreviate the month if you need more room.

Add a title and a one or two sentence description of the event.

Finally, add your remaining events in chronological order.

Now, it’s your turn: Insert a timeline diagram template, select the number of dates, color, and template style, and add the month, year, title, and description for each past event.
