Add and Organize Action Items
Add a slide and write an action item for each quality or skill in your professional brand profile.
Transcript
In this extension lesson, you will write action items to add to your professional brand profile.
An action item is a single, clearly defined task that will help you reach a goal.
An action item is something you can do to fulfill your mission statement.
Completing your action items demonstrates to employers and others that you are working toward your goals.
Some examples of action items could be participating in opportunities like volunteering, getting a summer job, doing activities in school and in your community, and many others.
To begin, add a new slide to your presentation and add a title.
Next, create a numbered list with your qualities or skills, starting with the first one.
Numbered lists can be useful for indicating an order to a list of items.
They can break up large chunks of text and add visual interest.
Add action items of things that you can do to help you reach your goals.
For example, you could volunteer at an animal shelter to work toward a larger goal of becoming a veterinary technician after high school.
Think about things you can do that matter to you.
Indent your action items to apply formatting to your numbered list.
This makes your information neat, organized, and visually appealing.
Continue to add an action item for each quality or skill and indent them.
Action items show that you are continuing to build your skills and experience.
People who can provide you opportunities in work or academics will take notice of them.
Now, it’s your turn: Open your professional brand profile, Add and title a new slide, Add your qualities and skills, Write an action item for each one, And apply a numbered list with indented lines.

Then, enter the name or email address of the person.
If you would like to share it with more than one person, you can add others.
Include a note describing your professional brand profile and inviting them to comment with their feedback.
You can choose whether you want the person to receive a notification that you shared something with them.
Now, share your presentation.
After the person leaves you a comment, you will receive an email notifying you.
