Add Evidence of Your Achievements
Transcript
In this video, you will add evidence of your achievements to support the qualities and skills you included in your mission statement.
Supporting materials could include things like letters from teachers, awards you’ve received, or photos of an event you participated in.
You might include documents, websites, and videos.
Having evidence for your experiences adds credibility to your professional brand.
If a potential employer or school asks to see materials, you will have them collected in one convenient place.
Any documents you want to link to in your presentation need a URL, so your documents will need to be uploaded and stored on the web or in Google Drive.
Once you have gathered materials, add hyperlinks to them in your presentation.
A hyperlink is clickable text that links to something, like a document.
To begin, navigate to Google Drive.
Find the document you want to link to, and get a shareable link.
Next, get a shareable link to your item.
Select the permission you want to use: Edit means the person you share with can make changes directly in your document.
Comment allows them to make comments, but not to change the document.
And view lets them see your document only.
Then, copy the link.
Next, go to the slide that includes the skill or quality for the item.
Type a short description for your link.
Then, insert the link to your supporting material.
Check your hyperlink to make sure it is correct.
Follow these steps to continue linking supporting items in your presentation.
To make room for more content on a slide, resize the textboxes.
You can also insert items directly into the presentation, such as a photo of you volunteering.
You can add website URL links to your presentation for content that is stored on the web.
For example, you could add a link to a company’s website that has photos of your summer internship.
It’s okay if you don’t have something to support every achievement on your list.
You might want to ask your teachers and others for written documents about your performance so you can update your profile later on.
When you’ve finished adding supporting resources to your slides, move on to the next video.
Now, it’s your turn: Add and link to at least three supporting resources for your past achievements.
