In this video, you will research different scholarships and record the information you learn in your spreadsheet. The Department of Labor’s scholarship finder tool can help you find funding opportunities for your education.

This tool can help you find opportunities to pay for school with scholarships and grants.

Scholarships are usually awarded based on merit.

Students’ academic achievements, volunteer work, or extracurricular activities are types of qualifications for scholarship awards.

Grants are usually awarded based on financial need.

Grants and scholarships are sometimes called “gift money.” Unlike loans, grant and scholarship money does not need to be paid back.

To begin, enter a keyword, such as a college major that you are considering. Or, you can use a keyword for a sport, instrument, club, or other activity that you have participated in or that interests you.

Review your search results and find one scholarship that matches your interests. Check if you are qualified to apply for this scholarship.

Now enter information about the scholarship into your spreadsheet.

First, record the name of the scholarship.

Now record the name of the organization offering the scholarship. You may type information directly into your spreadsheet or copy and paste it from the website.
