Identifying the scholarships that are the best match for your educational goals, location, skills, and affiliations will help ensure that you use your time efficiently when applying for scholarships.

In this video, you will use filters in the scholarship finder tool to help you narrow down your options.

To begin, return to the main scholarship finder webpage. You can filter for scholarships based on the kind of education you plan to get...

...the kind of award being offered, and where you live or plan to study.

You can also filter based on your affiliations.

For example, if you or your parent served in the military, you may qualify for certain types of aid.

You may find scholarships designed to support your studies if you live with a disability.

Or, you might use filters to find scholarships specifically set aside for people of your race or gender.

Select one or more filters that apply to you.

Find a scholarship for which you are qualified.

Type the scholarship’s name and link to the scholarship’s webpage in your spreadsheet.

Enter the details of that scholarship into your spreadsheet.

Find at least one more scholarship for which you are qualified. You may add new filters, change the filters, or keep the filters you’ve already chosen.

You may also combine a keyword search with filters.

It’s worthwhile to try different searches using a variety of filters and keywords, as this may help you identify scholarships for which you are uniquely qualified.

However, keep in mind that selecting too many filters may result in few or no options.

Enter details into your spreadsheet about any relevant scholarships you find. Now, it’s your turn: Apply filters to search for additional scholarships, Adjust your filters and keywords to find different options, And add information about at least two scholarships to your spreadsheet.
