Check Your Grades

Check your grades in Google Classroom.

Transcript

In this video, you will check your grades in Google Classroom.

You can see your overall grade if your teacher shares it.

Not all teachers share overall grades.

If you don’t see a grade, your teacher doesn’t share this information in Classroom.

In this case, you can ask your teacher for information about your grade.

You should check your work for your classes often to stay on track.

For all of your classes, you can quickly see upcoming assignments and announcements and what’s late or missing.

You can also view your work by topic.

On the Classroom homepage, you will see up to three assignments that are due in the next week on each class description.

Your teacher sets the late-work policies for your class.

However, Classroom doesn’t prevent you from turning in work after the due date.

When your teacher assigns work, it’s marked “Assigned.” If you don't turn in your work on time, it's marked “Missing” or “Done late” as soon as the due date or time arrives.

For example, if work is due at 9:00 AM, turn it in by 8:59 AM.

If you turn it in at 9:00 AM, it will be marked late.

In Classroom, you can easily track your progress and see a list of all your work for a class.

To begin, check your grades.

If you do not have access to your grades in Classroom, you can still check on your classwork to make sure you’ve turned in your work.

For all your classes, you can quickly see upcoming assignments and announcements and what’s late or missing.

You can also view your work by topic.

Now, it’s your turn: Check on your grade, and check on your classwork.

Adjust Your Email Settings in Google Classroom

Transcript

In this video, you will adjust your Google Classroom settings.

If you do not have access to email, you may skip this video.

If you have access to email and your Gmail notifications are on, you will get email notifications for certain activities.

For example, you will be notified when someone comments on your post or your teacher returns your work.

You can change your notification settings at any time.

If you use Classroom on a mobile device, you need to update the settings on your device separately.

To begin, open your Classroom settings.

Upload a new profile photo if you’d like.

Your photo will appear when you comment in the class.

Next, check your class guidelines for email notifications, or set your own.

For example, you may decide if you want email notifications about updates to your classes.

You might want to turn these notifications off if you don’t like your email inbox to get too full.

If you shut them off, you should check your classes daily to stay on track with new assignments.

If you need the extra reminder to start and complete assignments, leave the email notifications on to help you stay on track.

You can be more specific and choose the type of notifications that you get for all of your classes.

For example, you can turn off invitation notifications for all classes but keep notifications for assignments on.

You can also choose whether you receive notifications for a specific class.

For example, if you don’t want any notifications for your Math class, you can turn them off, but you’ll still get notifications for your other classes.

If you turn off notifications for a class, all notifications for that class are turned off.

Now it's your turn: Open your settings, and adjust your settings and preferences.
