Create a Papel Picado Banner
Create Multiple Papel Picados to Make a Banner
Transcript
In this video you will group your papel picado and the icons, then copy it to make a banner just like the ones seen at Dia de los Muertos celebrations.
To begin, select your papel and make sure all the icons are selected too.
Arrange your papel into a group.
This will make the papel and icons become one image so you can move it on the page.
Make the papel smaller and move it to the top left of your slide to make room for adding more.
Copy and paste the new, smaller papel to make a new one and move it next to the original.
Repeat this step three more times so you have five papel picados on the page.
They do not need to look organized yet.
Then, click on each individual papel to relocate it and rotate it slightly.
You can be exact about the location and angle if you want, but you might prefer to place them more naturally.
Rotate each one so the corners meet.
The papel picados will begin to look as if they are hung from a wall.
You can continue to adjust each image until you are happy with the placement and spacing of the papel picados.
View your slide in present mode to see the final creation.
Now, it’s your turn: Group your papel picado into one image, Reduce the size, Copy and paste it, Rotate each papel and view in present mode.
Create a Papel Picado Presentation
Create a Papel Picado Presentation in Google Slides
Transcript
In this video you will create a papel picado presentation with a title slide.
To begin, add a new blank slide to your presentation.
Add it before your papel picado banner slide, but after the two template slides.
Then, delete the two template slides.
Next, add a title layout to the first blank slide.
A "layout" is a premade format that you can apply to a slide to keep it organized.
Then, title your presentation with something that tells about the theme of your papel picado.
For example, if your theme is about you, you can title your presentation “My Papel Picado” Or you can personalize the title with your name.
Then, add a subtitle.
The subtitle should give a brief description of what your presentation is about.
Change the background color of your title slide to make it stand out.
Choose a light color so you can read the font.
Then, change the color of the text to complement the background.
Choose a dark color that makes the text easy to read.
Choose a new font for the title.
You can try out a few to see which one you like best before you decide.
Then, change the subtitle font to match the title font.
Then, view your slides in present mode to see the finished product.
Now, it’s your turn: Add a new blank slide, Add a title layout, Add a title and subtitle, Format the title page with color and font, and view your work in present mode.
