Add Slides for Tips and Share the Presentation
Transcript
In this video, you will work with your group to brainstorm tips for new students and add slides for each of them to your presentation.
You will also add a concluding slide.
Then, you will share the presentation with the whole group so that everyone can complete the slide for their tip.
To begin, discuss some things you think would help a new student adjust to your school.
Consider what information would have helped you when you first came to the school and what would make things easier for a student starting today.
For example, maybe you think it would be helpful for new students to join clubs that are offered on your campus so that they can get to know people.
Or maybe you want to tell them about tours they can take to familiarize themselves with your school.
Once you have an idea, add a slide for your first tip and select the layout you want to use.
The "layout" determines how text and other objects are arranged on the slide.
Choose a layout that allows you to add both a title and body, or main, text.
Add a title that describes the tip.
Decide on a member of your group to write the explanation of that tip and add that person's name to the speaker notes for the slide.
Keep adding slides with the titles of your tips until you have assigned at least one tip to everyone in your group.
Insert one additional slide for a concluding message to new students.
Choose a different layout in order to show that it is the last slide.
And write a final message of welcome to new students.
After you've finished adding slides, share the presentation with the rest of your group so that everyone can complete their own slide.
First, type in the email address of other group members.
Then, select the permission you want to use: Editor means the people you share it with can make changes directly in their presentation, Commenter allows them to make comments, but not change the presentation, and viewer lets them see your presentation only.
Since each student in your group will be completing their own slide, select "Editor." Now, it's your turn: brainstorm tips for new students with your group, add slides with the title of each tip, add the name of the student who will complete the slide to the speaker notes, add a concluding slide and write a final message, and share the presentation with the group.
