In this video, you and your group members will each copy information about one movie from your list in the movie ideas document.

You will paste that information into the movie data spreadsheet.

Make sure you have both the movie ideas document and the movie data spreadsheet open on your computer.

If you do not know which movie you are responsible for, check with your group members.

In the movie data spreadsheet, create a new tab.

Rename the tab with the title of the movie you are responsible for, and add your name.

Copy and paste all of the information for your movie from the movie ideas document into column one of your new spreadsheet.

Now all of the information about your movie appears in the spreadsheet - but its format doesn't match.

For example, in other parts of the spreadsheet the actor cells only have one actor's name.

These cells also include the word "actor." To fix this, separate the data from the labels.

Select the data you pasted, if it is not already selected.

Next, select "Data" and "Split text to columns." Split text breaks text apart based on a common character, like a comma or space.

In this case, you can split the text based on the colon.

Select the "colon" punctuation mark as a "Custom" separator.

This tells Google Sheets to split the data into a separate column wherever there is a colon.

Now the labels and the Title, Genre, Synopsis, Director, Cast Members, and Budget are in two different columns.

Next, adjust the formatting, text wrapping, and column size to make the data easier to read.

Select "Clear formatting" to erase the bold font.

Wrap text so you can see the movie synopsis.

And adjust the column size so you can read everything.

When you've finished formatting all the information about your movie in the sheet, move on to the next video where you will compare the returns on investment for each element.

Now, it's your turn: Create a new tab in the movie data spreadsheet for your movie.

Copy and paste all of the information about your movie from the movie ideas document to this tab in the movie data spreadsheet.

Split the text into columns using a colon as the separator.

Adjust the formatting, text wrapping, and column size to make the data easier to read.

Then, move on to the next video to analyze the data for each component of your movie.
