In this video, you will explore different ways to customize your map.

Editing items in your map does not change the text in your spreadsheet.

Once you import a sheet into Google My Maps, any changes you make show up on the map only.

To see more information about a particular place, click on a place marker on your map.

You might want to make your markers more unique.

You can customize markers by... Editing the name of a location, changing the color of your place markers, changing the icons for each location to give the viewer an idea of what the locations are, or even adding an image or a video to each location marker.

Search for the image and make sure you have the right to use the image.

You can also manually add a new place marker to your map if you find another location you want to include.

Enter the name of a place or an address in the search box.

Add it to the map.

Then, edit the information about the place.

If a location does not appear in a search or doesn't have an address, you can also create your own marker.

Then, fill in the information about the point yourself.

Take time to explore the tools and features in Google My Maps.

This is your chance to make the map your own.

When you are done customizing your map, preview it to see it from a user's point of view.

Now, it's your turn: Explore tools and features to customize your map, edit the title or appearance of a place marker, add a new marker, and preview your map.
