Use Word Art to Add a Title to Your Slide
Add a title to your slide using Word Art.
Transcript
In this video, you will add a title to your slide using Word Art.
Word Art is a tool you can use to create words with different colors, borders, and fonts.
Adding Word Art to your slide gives you the chance to express who you are with your style choices to make your slide unique.
To begin, return to your finished project from the main lesson.
Then, add a title using Word Art.
You might choose to use the name of the presentation as your title.
Place it where you want it to go on the canvas.
You may need to move objects around to make room.
Now, play around with the Word Art by changing the font...
...Fill color...
...And border color of your Word Art.
Changing the font of Word Art will sometimes move the text a little, so resize and move the text box if needed.
Now, it’s your turn: Add your title as Word Art, place it where you want on the slide, move objects around if needed, experiment with different fonts, fills, and border colors, and resize and move the text box if needed.
Mask Your Images
Give the images on your slide unique shapes by masking them.
Transcript
In this extension, you will give the images on your slide unique shapes by masking them.
To mask an image means to fit it into a shape by cropping or cutting it.
To begin, return to your finished project from the main lesson.
Then, click on the first image that you want to mask.
Choose a shape for the image that keeps most of it visible.
Some choices might look interesting but will take the focus away from the image if it covers it.
So it’s best not to use those.
Decide on a shape for your first image.
You may want to choose a meaningful shape, like a heart, if you love something or are proud of it.
Finish masking your images with the same shape...
...Or use different shapes.
Now, it’s your turn: Click on the first image that you want to mask, apply a shape to mask it, and finish masking your images.
Recolor or Flip Your Images
Recolor or flip the images on your slide to create different effects.
Transcript
In this extension, you will recolor or flip the images on your slide to create unique effects.
Adding interesting effects like recoloring and flipping can make your slide look more appealing and help you express your creativity more.
To begin, return to your finished project from the main lesson.
Then, select an image on the slide to recolor.
Open the recolor menu to see the options.
Some colors are lighter...
...Or darker.
Experiment until you’ve found the effect you’re looking for.
Select other images to recolor.
Use your imagination when you recolor.
For example, just because something is a certain color in real life, doesn’t mean it has to be that color on your slide.
Next, choose which images to flip.
You can flip the same images you recolored or different ones.
Flip horizontally...
...Or vertically...
...But make sure the audience will still be able to understand the image you flipped.
Finish flipping any images you would like.
Now, it’s your turn: Select images on your slide to recolor or flip, and recolor or flip the images.
